Theme: Christian Evidence

sermon theme for 2017

Theme Verse: 1 Timothy 3:15 “but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth." NASB

As you look around our nation, there is not a lack of church buildings to be found; they are everywhere. However, as you look at the culture, we do not see this overwhelmingly influencing the culture we live in. Just look at our schools, the government, the neighborhoods, the prisons, the news, and yes, even our churches, to see the influence of Satan on a society.

These are the last days and the apostle Paul describes exactly how they would look in II Timothy 3:1-5. In a world like this, what are you looking for in a church? Your answer can stretch for miles with Bible verses to back up your claim. I'm sorry, but the question I put before you was the wrong question, and yes, I hear a lot of sincere people asking this question. I believe the right question is "What type of church is God looking for in 2017?".

I've wrestled with this question in many ways and I really couldn't answer it, at least not until in my daily reading I was going through Paul's letters to Timothy and Titus.

This is where we draw our 2017 theme, "Christian Evidence". This year's theme will not be wrapped up in apologetics. However, it will be handled by provoking all to be able to give an answer for the hope you have in Christ. We are striving to teach and inspire all to be Jesus' Christian Evidence. Challenging Christians to move their witnesses beyond the arguments and debates to being light and salt in a world that desperately needs to see the evidence of Christ in the lives of His believers. Come join us as we magnify Christ and strive to be His Christian Evidence on this earth.
